"A significant change in the metabolic rate is not uncommon for Terran women of an age comparable to your own."
"I'm working on it," she said, already thinking of how to explain transporter technology to someone who might not know what it was in a language she had thought dead not two hours ago.
The first time he melded with her it was an accident. They were in his quarters at the Academy, stealing time amongst her classes and his duties. The day was relatively warm and sunlight, reflected off the fountain outside his window, dappled the ceiling.
Spock didn't wait for a greeting as he entered Nyota's quarters. "I have searched the database for your previous reference. Those records which I found were not illuminating."
She closed the door and turned. "My previous reference? Spock, considering how you remember details, that might be anything."
